Cássio Diniz Santiago (born 1973 in São Paulo, Brazil) is a performance artist, theater and dance theater director, dramaturg, and researcher. He received his Bachelor in Performing Arts from the State University of Campinas, Brazil. His performance, theater, dance, and multidisciplinary art projects have been presented at the São Paulo Biennial, the Museum of Modern Art in São Paulo, the Baltic Circle International Theatre Festival, the Akademie der Künste Berlin, and the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm in Frankfurt. In 2015 and 2016 he was a fellow at the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. He has given lectures, seminars, and workshops at the Institute for Applied Theatre Studies at Justus Liebig University Gießen and at the Stockholm Academy of Dramatic Arts. In 2020 he received the Werner Düttmann Fellowship from the Akademie der Künste, Berlin. In 2021 he was a fellow of the Thüringer Kulturstiftung. That same year he developed the performance “Grammar”, funded by the Fonds Darstellende Künste. In 2022 he received a fellowship from the European Alliance of Akademies for the project “Syntax of Care”. He has been living and working in Germany since 2017.
